Dear Praying Friends,
It is hard to believe that we
have been in Japan for just over one year now. The world has changed so
much in our first year on the mission field. I thank the Lord that we
serve a God that does not change and is the same yesterday, today,
and forever.
Hallelujah! We have seen our first
soul come to Christ. His name is Mr. Ishizuka but he likes to be called
Jake. He is excited about learning more about Jesus and the Bible.
Because he knows English I am able to have a weekly Bible study with him.
He tells me he shares everything- he learns about Jesus and the Bible
with his family (wife, son, mother and brother). He wants to see them get
saved also. Please pray for Jake's Christian growth and for the
salvation of his family.
Please continue to pray for us
as we continue to study the language. Often we meet people and our hearts
are broken because we want to share with them Jesus, but the
language barrier is still too great and all we can do is give them a
Gospel tract and invite them to church. This is what happened to Mr. Sudo.
We met him at a park a couple of weeks ago and invited him to church. He
came to the very next service. Please pray that he will come again.
We do give thanks to God that we are able to understand some of the
things people say to us now and that we are able to say a FEW things back
and actually communicate JUST A LITTLE BIT. It encourages us to look back
to last March when we first came to Japan and we didn't know any of the
language at all.
Please continue to pray for Mr.
Okada and Mr. Inami and their families. They haven't shown an interest in
coming to church anymore. Pray that God will give us the wisdom in
dealing with the Japanese as we are still learning thier culture. There
are times that we may be offensive and do not even know it.
Thank you fso much for your prayers
and support as we continue to serve the Lord.

Subject: Update on Aimee's mom
Dear friends,
Thank you so much for your prayers
for Aimee's mom in her recovery from her car accident. About
two weeks ago Aimee's mom had a car accident. She hit a tree and had some
extensive damages. She got 6 broken ribs, a broken sternum, and a
broken wrist. Her liver was damaged and her heart was badly bruised.
Also, one of her hips was dislocated. She was in intensive care for 3 or
4 days. We were not notified of her accident until she was released from
intensive care. This past Tuesday she had surgery on her wrist and had 3
0r 4 pins put in. She is in a lot of pain and will be in the hospital
several more days. The doctors are gong to run tests to see if she
had a stroke that would have caused the accident. About a year ago she a
mild stroke while driving and had an accident and broke her ankle. Please
continue to pray for her recovery and for comfort on Aimee's behalf. Her
desire is to be there with her mother at this time. We do praise the Lord
that he spared her life and also that all she hit was a tree and not
another vehicle.
Also, please pray for my mom. She was
taken to the hospital this past Wednesday and it was discovered that
she has congestive heart failure. They also noticed 2 heart murmurs and
that her artificial heart valve is no longer working and will need to be
replaced. In a few days they are going to do tests to see how
bad her arteries are blocked. In the next week or two I will find out the
extent of surgery she will need.
Again, thank you so much for
your prayers. Here in Japan our family is all doing well. We can't
believe how fast our children are growing up. Maria turned four back in
December, Jordan's birthday is today he is now three, Sydney will be two
in April and Wesley is already five months old and rolling around.
Serving our Lord,
Brother Zemke
