The Revolution is coming!  I am happy to report that since our last update we have had two more men from the football team get saved.  We also had seven other men step forward that said they are Christians; but having heard the message, want to learn what it really means to follow Christ. (In a religious culture like London this is the response we are looking for) After spending a significant amount of time laying out the Gospel for the whole team I have taken the ones who want to follow Christ (approximately 10 altogether) and have started a weekly bible study with them so that I could take them a little deeper and begin instructing them how they can walk with Christ daily.  Leonardo, The Brazilian Captain of the Football team, has shown the most remarkable fruit.  He is so hungry for Instruction.  He has already shown a keen interest and devotion to prayer.  There is also Lucas who is from South Africa.  He is the youngest of the Team.  The ages of the club range from 20 to 30 but Lucas is only 16.  His Father brought him to London so that he could pursue his dream of becoming a professional footballer.  Can you imagine living in London alone at the age of 16? He is an amazing kid and not only does he have excellent skills but also he is hungry for Christ.

There are too many to talk about each one but I wanted to give you a taste of what we have seen so far.  You have always heard, I am sure, that London is a hard field but we have found some soft fertile ground in a place we would have never suspected – in the hearts of a few hard-wearing footballers.  I can tell you about these men but I wish you could see their eyes.  I now know what Paul meant when he reminded the Thessalonians how the Gospel entered their lives: that it wasn’t just words, but it came by power and the Holy Ghost.  I have seen this happen in the eyes of these men.  When I presented the Gospel to them we had a severe language barrier.  Because of that I had to speak very slow and clear without any figures of speech.  My presentation was plain and completely devoid of personality.  I tried to spice it up but it never worked and was always met with a confused look.  I was reluctant, but my message was reduced to the basic facts of the Gospel.  I could not believe their response.  It was as if my bland message was water to their soul.  Just as Paul said it was the power of the Holy Spirit who did the work on the inside.  It was amazing!  I just want you to know that every Friday night in London a there is a group of men gathering in the presence of God to feed on his nature, to seek his Kingdom and it has happened because you took the time to pray, it has happened because you invested your resources in the Kingdom of God.

But wait there is more!  While this group of men are being changed there is a woman, a devoted disciple of Christ, hard at work in the heart of “The City” (this is the one square mile right in the centre of downtown London).  Corona Becker was our first disciple and she is growing at a rate that can only be attributed to God.  Her faith has been tested and she has come through like gold and now her faith is beginning to spread.

I am afraid that there is just too much to say that I cannot fit it into one update.  Let me finish up by encouraging you to keep praying this is what changes lives. Please do not let the Devil keep you from it.  We are making a difference.  London is a very dark city and our enemy is in control, but the revolution is coming.  Remember to keep an eye out for “This is London …” in your subject line that will be us with another update.  We love you all.
